Fulmer Instruments Named a Finalist in U.S. Army’s xTechSearch 9 Competition.

Fulmer Instruments was selected as one of the finalists in the U.S. Army’s xTechSearch 9 competition on August 7, 2025. Fulmer’s entry, “Compact Bipolar Electrosurgical Hemostasis for Austere, Point-of-Injury Trauma Care,” joins an elite group of innovators from across the U.S. invited to advance toward the finals.

As a finalist, Fulmer gains the opportunity to pitch its technology before a panel of subject-matter experts from the Army and Department of Defense. The competition offers not only funding but access to the xTechSearch Accelerator, which provides mentorship, resources, and connections to help bring solutions into operational use.

Fulmer’s technology addresses a critical capability gap: delivering effective hemostasis (bleeding control) in austere, point of injury settings using a compact bipolar electrosurgical device. The innovation has strong dual-use potential, with applications both in civilian trauma care and on the battlefield.

“We are honored to be selected among such distinguished finalists,” said Dr. Fulmer. “This recognition validates our team’s dedication to saving lives in situations where every second counts. We look forward to engaging with Army stakeholders and demonstrating how our solution can make a real operational impact.”
