Cordless. Effortless. Precise. Perfectly balanced.
Focus
Unlike systems that depend on large, costly generators, we deliver advanced performance in a portable, lower-cost format.
This enables adoption in underserved hospitals, ASCs and a broad range of environments where resources are much more limited.
Opportunity
Cords everywhere, equipment carts taking critical space. Surgeons work around their tools instead of through them. And the per-case cost continues to climb with specialized single-use devices — with no cordless, multi-use, offerings in sight.
The Instrument
Multiple patents. 25+ years of surgical device craft. Complete predicate electrosurgical performance in a handheld, battery-powered platform. No cord. No cart. No compromise.
The Fulmer Bipolar Electrosurgical Unit (ESU) is a handheld, cordless high frequency electrosurgical generator intended for general electrosurgical tissue coagulation and is not intended for vessel sealing or other procedures requiring vessel sealing capability.
The Fulmer Bipolar ESU is intended for use with commercially marketed bipolar forceps for coagulating tissue.
The Fulmer F1 is not approved for sale in the US or other geographical region.
Full electrosurgical performance (tissue coagulation) with no external generator and no power cord. Complete freedom of movement.
Multiple patents. Meticulous engineering refined with decades of medical device experience.
Fully reusable device with modular, plug and play battery.
Regulatory submission targeting Q4 2026.

At the Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York, Dr. Benjamin Fulmer took the stage to share a vision that bridges medicine, technology, and Southern ingenuity. As founder of Fulmer Instruments, he spoke about how his team is rethinking surgical tools with the same design precision seen in consumer electronics—cordless, flawless, and limitless.
Dr. Fulmer highlighted not only the company's innovations but also its roots in Alabama, where a growing ecosystem of engineers, researchers, and advanced manufacturers is shaping the future of medical technology. "People don't always think of Alabama when they think of medical innovation," he said. "But that's changing. We're proving that transformative ideas can come from anywhere—and we're proud to build them here."
His remarks drew attention to the intersection of American manufacturing, cutting-edge design, and healthcare impact, underscoring Fulmer Instruments' mission to deliver tools that empower surgeons worldwide.
